Sports are a shared passions for many in our region.
Yoga, running groups, competitions and a wide range of activities can be a part of this sports department. The South Side is home to a stair climb event as well as a boarded-up, indoor ice rink that should be made open again to the public. World-class sports teams practice here on dwarf fields where kickers sail balls onto the railroad tracks or else into the river. Lots of flexing and stretching of shared concerns can fit into this department. The title -- sports -- is a broad one so as to include women, seniors and tikes too.

Know Thyself and Fit
The goal of the 9x9.CLOH.Org's Sports Department is to assist leaders and players of the region in their pursuits to "know thyself" and understand their fit in our shared landscape.
In some countries and in other county offices, physical education and sports are well organized. In Western Pennsylvania, physical education and sports are fully unorganized.
Superior organization can be a strength or weakness. A sports machine with structure can be abusive and less creative.
Howard County HPE&D Office
Howard County (MD) has an office of Health, Physical Education and Dance. Within that office is a facilitator for K-12 physical education. Howard County has 46,000 students, 175 physical education teachers and 11 dance teachers. Issues include curriculum development, observation of teachers, safety and liability knowledge.
