Great stuff from Mark and this online neighborhood. Sorry for the delay, but
Toastmasters http://www.district13tm.netfirms.com/, job hunting, Internet dating, and online radio have kept me super busy/active.
Now, it's my turn to add my 13 cents. I said 13 instead of 2 cents, because
of being associated with up-and-coming WEHRQ 13Q Internet Radio. Log on
http://e-hits-info.tripod.com/ and http://e-hits-info.tripod.com/wehrq/ for
all those wonderful details. It makes for great music from the late 1960s
through today, plus my "Eclectic Buzz as Rick Martin" segments. Along with
those top-notch things, you also get the Jim Tudor "Eclectic Coaches
Corner/Tip of the Day" features. Log on, check it out, then spread the word.
You'll be glad you did!!
Along with these excellent plugs, here's my take on some of Mr. Rauterkus'
statements. Everything enclosed is along the same lines of my opinions,
except the Mon-Fayette project. I testified at a hearing and will repeat it
here. As a current District 13 Toastmasters Area 9 Governor who's
clubs/travels require extensive East End trips to Monroeville, New
Kensington/Alcoa Center, and Wilkins for club visits, a completed
Mon-Fayette Expressway would cut travel time tremendously. The tolls would
be a small cost for time savings. Remember, the key is how much one's time
costs and how to keep those economic expenses way down? Especially now,
when/where entrepreneurs (see http://www.americanentrepreneur.net for best
resources on this.) require good driving (car, truck, etc.) access, this road is
needed more than at any other time in history. Build it and, to paraphrase
the "Field of Dreams" infamous movie line, 'prosperity/growth will come.'
Otherwise, along with all the other policies, Pittsburgh/Allegheny County/PA
will continue to devolve until the average age/economy/attitude is DECEASED.
(And yes, I adapted and borrowed that line from http://www.1360wptt.com/ or
1360 WPTT-AM 'The Point' talk host Doug UNCLE DOUGGIE Hoerth. Heck, I've
asked him on air about many of his lines. He borrows freely and so will I.)
That's my take. I await concurrence/rebuttal/response from you.
